• 24-Hour Clock
  Many restaurants, train stations, and transportation schedules use military (24-hour) time.

• Tipping
  Service is typically included in your bill. Tipping is not expected, though leaving a few euros for exceptional service is always appreciated.

• Asking for the Check
  Unlike in the U.S., your server will usually not bring the check until you ask. “L'addition, s'il vous plaît." (The check, please.)

• Restaurant Hours
  Many restaurants close between lunch and dinner service. If you're looking for a late afternoon meal, check that the restaurant offers service continu (continuous service).

• Wear Comfortable Shoes
  Paris is best explored on foot. Expect plenty of walking over cobblestone streets, so comfortable shoes are highly recommended.

• Getting Around
  The Métro is one of the fastest and most affordable ways to get around the city. Google Maps works well for navigating routes and train connections. Uber is also readily available throughout the city and airports. 'Berline' means black car en francais
